Everything you need to know about shipping, our beef products, and how we raise our cattle at Grassfedbeefshares.
π Where do you deliver?
Shipping
β
We currently deliver to any address within the continental United States, including the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C.
π How does the beef stay fresh during shipping?
Shipping
β
Every order is packed in a heavy duty, insulated cooler that is placed inside a shipping box for extra protection. Depending on the season, we use gel packs or dry ice to keep your beef at a safe temperature throughout transit. In many cases your order will still be partially or fully frozen when it arrives. Even if the gel packs have started to thaw, your beef will remain cool and safe to handle. Keeping our products fresh from our farm to your freezer is something we take seriously.
π When will my order ship?
Shipping
β
Because every order is hand cut to fill, individual cuts typically leave our facility within 7 to 10 business days of your order, often sooner. Bulk beef shares such as quarters, halves, and whole cow orders require additional processing time, generally 4 to 6 weeks from the date of your order. Our team will keep you updated on your order status throughout the process.
π Can I request a later shipping date?
Shipping
β
Yes. Simply let us know your preferred shipping date in the special instructions field at checkout, or reach out to our team directly and we will coordinate a delivery window that works for you.
π What if I'm not happy with my order?
Shipping
β
We stand fully behind the quality of every product we raise and ship. If something about your order was not right, whether it arrived damaged or simply did not meet your expectations, reach out to us and we will make it right through a replacement or refund. Full details are available on our Refund and Returns Policy page.
π₯© Is your beef USDA inspected?
Product
β
Yes. All of our beef passes through USDA inspection, meeting the strict standards set by the Food Safety and Inspection Service for safety, correct labeling, and packaging.
π₯© What's the best way to defrost my beef?
Product
β
The safest method is thawing in the refrigerator, which keeps the meat at a consistent temperature below 40Β°F. A standard cut usually takes about a day, while larger cuts need roughly 24 hours per 5 pounds. If you need it faster, submerge the sealed package in cold water and change the water every 30 minutes, a pound of meat can thaw in about an hour this way. You can also use your microwave's defrost setting in a pinch, just cook the meat immediately afterward.
π₯© How long is thawed beef good in the fridge?
Product
β
Once thawed in the refrigerator, we recommend cooking your beef within 4 days for the best quality and safety.
π₯© Can I cook it straight from frozen?
Product
β
Yes, your beef arrives ready to cook. Keep in mind that cooking from frozen typically takes about 50 percent longer than cooking a fully thawed cut.
π₯© How long can I keep it frozen?
Product
β
Thanks to our vacuum sealed packaging, your beef can stay frozen for up to 8 months. For the best flavor and texture, we recommend cooking it within 6 months of freezing.
π₯© Can I refreeze beef after it's delivered?
Product
β
Yes, you're welcome to refreeze your beef if it arrives partially thawed or if you simply want to portion it out for later use.
π₯© How is your beef graded?
Product
β
Our beef consistently grades Choice or higher, with select cuts reaching Prime. That said, we believe grading is only part of the story. How an animal is raised, its diet, and how much time it spends on pasture play just as big a role in flavor and marbling as the grade stamp itself.
